I have nothing exciting to report and no pictures, so you can stop reading now if you'd like.
...
If you're still reading, you must really like us. I figured, for those I don't get to talk to much, I would just update on our lives. I'll even put headings, so you can read about the things you care about and skip the rest. Aren't I nice?
Nate: Has been mostly enjoying work and more especially the eating out that comes with it. He's started exercising to keep from getting fat since some days he eats restaurant food for 2 meals a day. Most of the time he gets home around 5:30 or 6, but today and probably for the rest of the week, he got home at 9:00. This is my preview to busy season I guess. Boo.
Karly: Got really sick for a few days. It was rotten, she was grumpy, especially after she had a febrile seizure. Oh, I forgot to mention that? Well then...
interrupt Karly for Karly's Seizure night: Karly was sick and hadn't really eaten and had a fever. She wasn't sleeping well, so I was on the couch with her, trying to get some sleep. She drank an entire bottle of water and then at 2:00 threw up on me about 8 times in a row. Right after she started shaking like she was really cold, so I tried to cuddle her, but she was completely rigid. I looked down and her face was ashen (I finally know what that word means - gray), her eyes were rolled back and her hands were clenched in fists. I panicked and yelled for Nate who immediately called 911. They sent over the fire department, paramedics and a cop - 7 people for one little baby. We rode in the ambulance to the hospital (did I mention this is like 2 in the morning?) where the doctor told us that sometimes if a temperature rises too quickly, this kind of seizure is a body's reaction to that temperature rise to try to fix it. It apparently has a bit of a heredity link because it happened to Kippy twice when she was a baby and it's happened to Nate twice since we've been married (though it was a little different, but no less scary). Anyway, everything turned out fine, we went home and Karly slept until 11. Poor Nate still had to go to work. He's a good man, I tell ya.
Back to Karly: She is the funniest little thing ever. She loves to dance and run in place (or in circles). Her favorite food it now eggs (she asks for it at least twice a day and I really hate making eggs) and she doesn't seem to like peas anymore. She says a lot of words, my favorite of which is "MANOS!" If you can figure it out by the end of this post, I'll give you $20 (if you don't already know). She has become a creature of habit and throws a little tantrum if something is done differently from how we normally do it. I hate it. But she takes really good naps and sleeps well at night, so I guess it's one or the other with her. I'll take the sleep. Oh, and she watches Elmo: Adventures in Grouchland every morning and would probably watch it all day if I would let her. I'm getting a little sick of it, but it's actually pretty cute and funny, so watch it with your kids. Anyway, if you want to hear all her funny words and see her craziness, come visit. :)
8 weeks to a better you: Since I'm not sure Becki ever heard :) I won! Actually, me and 23 other people won, so we each got like $56, but that's better than nothing! I made back my money and more! I spent a little of it, but have no idea what to spend it on. I feel like I want to spread it out. And aside from the money, I have kept a lot of the habits I formed from it. Karly and I exercise every day and I write in my journal and read something uplifting. The no sugar part went out the window, as I knew it would. :)
Crafts: My mother-in-law is mucho crafty and has tons of fabric and crafty stuff, so I've been trying to get some of her craftiness to rub off on me. I have like 6 or 7 projects either started or in the corner of our dining room waiting to be started. I'll post pictures as I finish things...if I ever get at least one thing finished... :) One is a quilt for Karly's bed, one is a snowman table runner, one is the lining for baskets for Karly's room and one I will be starting as soon as Amazon gets it shipped to my house is this:
A Bucilla Stocking! I have a friend who just made one and said it took like 100 hours, so you won't see or hear from me until after Christmas Eve. :)
Church Calling: Sorry mom, that this is the first you're seeing this, but I keep forgetting to tell you when I talk to you...I just got called to be the Mia Maid Advisor in our ward. I am WAY excited - I even said in passing a few months ago that I would love a calling in Young Womens and apparently someone heard. ;)
*If you have no idea what I just said, go
here or ask me. :)
So that's our life. Hope you enjoyed the update.
Oh, and if you figured out that "Manos" means "Snowman" I owe you 20 bucks.
