Disleyland! Part 1 - Characters

No, that's not a typo in the title of this post. That is what Karly calls Disneyland and it is the cutest thing. I love it when she says words wrong - it's so much cuter than the right way.

I'm just going to start out with all the characters we saw, because that was one of the most fun parts. We told Karly beforehand that we would see a lot of these characters, but I don't think she really grasped what that meant because she was really nervous for the first few we saw.

For example:

This was about as close as she got to Buzz. She wouldn't even look at me for a picture - probably because she didn't want to let him out of her line of sight. :)

Here too. This is Jake from the Neverland Pirates (we had never even heard of it before going to Disneyland). She wanted to give him a little "gold coin" that he would put in his boot, but she stood about 4 feet away at first and just reached her arm out. Once again, this was as close as she got.

By the second day, she was doing better - it probably helped that I was there too.
Here's the whole family with Mickey.
The line to see Winnie the Pooh was REALLY long and I think we were all pretty tired by this point of the day and wanted to move on to something else. So this is our picture with Pooh Bear.

She did get better with some of the characters. In fact, she even tried to tell Woody that she shot Zurg, but he couldn't hear our little mouse whisperer.
She went full on running into Sulley's arms. You'd think she'd be the most scared of him - he was huge!
The best part, though, was Karly meeting Rapunzel. She isn't with the other princesses - she has her own little line you have to wait in to see her. We always thought the line was like an hour long and didn't want to waste a lot of time waiting for it, but one of the days, Karly fell asleep in the stroller, so we figured while she was sleeping we could wait in line. It took about 30 minutes and we ended up waking Karly up to see Rapunzel. Even though she was groggy, I think she loved it. Rapunzel was SO sweet to Karly and spent a lot of time with her, trying to get her to smile and letting her touch her long hair. It was very cute.

We didn't see any other princesses, except in passing as we were on our way somewhere else and didn't want to wait in line, or as they were leaving. Most of the day, they have the princesses in this area where you wait in line, and then just see whichever 3 princesses happen to be there at the time. We didn't want to risk getting ones Karly didn't really know. Plus, she was most excited about the Toy Story Characters and Rapunzel anyway. Maybe next time.

SOOO glad to see these pics, and get a tiny taste of your trip! If I had favorites, my fave would be where Karly's hair and Rapunzel's kinda match (the last one), and they are having a cute little girl chat (so it seems). Super Sweet. I bet she remembers it forever. ♥
Love and hugs,
